Civil Engineering pathway

Our degree programme provides a strong foundation in civil engineering within the wider context of construction and the built environment. Students develop knowledge of structural analysis, geotechnics, highways and transport systems, alongside core engineering principles such as materials science, fluid mechanics and sustainable design.

Alongside civil engineering, the degree covers broader aspects of the construction industry, including project management, supply chains, economics, finance and compliance with building regulations. Learners also gain technical skills in mathematics, computer-aided design (CAD) and digital construction tools.

Throughout the programme, there is a strong focus on sustainability, innovation and professional practice. Learners explore how modern technologies, sustainable methods and leadership approaches can be integrated into construction projects, while also developing skills including communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
